I am a “Bible Nerd”. Meaning, I have a ton of Bibles in my personal collection. I wanted to put a list together of my top 10 favorite Bibles (I am an NKJV fan, but this list is inclusive to all major Bible manufacturers). Each of these Bibles have been chosen for a specific reason. To purchase some of these Bibles, you will have to sell all that you have to buy them, and some of these Bibles you do not have to think twice about. I will have each Bible linked to a trusted website, where you can find more information on the Bible, and buy it if I convinced you to do so.
I know what you are saying right now, “Why does he have so many Bibles?” There are three very shallow reasons: I messed up writing/ highlighting on a page, I entered a new season of life, and finally, just because I wanted a new Bible.
- The Cambridge Topaz The Preacher’s Bible — This is the perfect sized Bible that includes wide margins.
- Schuyler Quentel The Mirrored Design — Each page is the same no matter if you get the standard or personal size (so get two).
- The Thompson Chain Reference Bible The Chief Study Bible — Don’t worry about the study notes, they are in the back.
- Thomas Nelson Comfort Print Series The Average Joe — A great budget-friendly option for those who want to write in their Bibles (this is also the Bible I use when I need to not worry about messing up the pages when I mark them).
- ESV Single Column Journaling Bible The Writer’s Friend — This is the perfect Bible for those who love to write long notes.
- RL Allan 53 Longprimer The Classic — This is the classiest of Bibles, having all the bells and whistles of a premium Bible.
- The Keyword Study Bible The Word Nerd — A wide-margin study Bible that isn’t obnoxious in size.
- Church Bible Publishers The KJV Only — A budget-friendly option for someone who wants a premium leather Bible. (for the King James only people)
- Reina Valera Premier Collection En Español — This is the best Bible for my Spanish-speaking friends. Calidad premium.
- The Rebind The Bonus — There are many Bible rebinders out there who will take your cherished Bible, and customize it into a premium leather format. I was able to do this for my Pastor as a pastor appreciation gift, and the results were outstanding! If you are like me, you can buy a smyth-sown hardback copy of your favorite Bible format (or any Bible for that matter), and pay for a rebinder to customize it. I did this with a hardback copy of the Cambridge Wide Margin Bible a few years back.
This is my list of my favorite Bibles, which I also think are the best out there. What do you think?
Johnny Idea: Create Bible Sword Drill tournaments. For my COG friends, a Bible Sword Drills tournament should be in Junior and Teen Talent. If the Olympics can introduce breakdancing as a sport, then we certainly can give Sword Drills a shot.
